Apple has made its new Liquid Glass design language a bit frostier and softened some of the most prominent design features. In the third developer beta of iOS 26, Apple reduced the transparency of buttons, tabs, and navigation bars that previously made it possible to see the content underneath them.

Inspired by the optical properties of glass in the real world, like its translucent appearance and ability to refract light, the tech giant unveiled its new design language, Liquid Glass, at WWDC 2025 in June, per TechCrunch.
