Startup registrations cross 1.8 lakh mark, as 22,000 new entities join in 2025

Almost 21,683 startups have been recognised under the Startup India initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) since the beginning of this year, bringing the total number of registered entities to 1,80,683.

In response to a query raised by Rajya Sabha member Vivek K Tankha, the ministry of commerce and industry (MoCI) revealed that as of June 30, 2025, a total of 1,80,683 entities have been recognised as startups by DPIIT.
