Nasscom underscores funding, infrastructure gaps in India’s growing GenAI startup ecosystem

India’s generative AI (GenAI) startup ecosystem is witnessing rapid growth, with the total number of GenAI startups almost tripling and patents growing by 1.7 times over the past 12 months. Yet, lack of funding, high computing costs, and availability of talent remain key issues hampering the ecosystem growth, according to Nasscom.

The report titled GenAI startup landscape report 2025, by India’s premier IT industry body, was published on Thursday (August 7) on the sidelines of FutureForge 2025, in partnership with Hitachi Digital Services.
