The government is likely to propose sweeping restrictions on online money games under the upcoming Online Gaming Bill, 2025, sources told CNBC-TV18.

The draft Bill is expected to prohibit any person from offering online money games or online money gaming services in India. It will also bar advertisements related to such games, as well as financial transactions connected to them. Banks and financial institutions may be restricted from facilitating payments to online money games, the sources said.
