Parliament passes Online Gaming Bill to ban money games

Parliament on Thursday, August 21, passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025.

The Rajya Sabha approved the bill without debate on August 21. It was passed by the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, August 20.

The bill was introduced by the Union Minister of Electronics and IT in the Lower House. It aims to ban all the forms of online money gaming.

However, it does not ban eSports and online social games.
