Amazon, Flipkart to begin festive sales from September 23

Ecommerce majors Amazon India and Flipkart Friday said their annual festive sales will begin this year on September 23, a day after changes in goods and services tax (GST) rates come into force.

Early preview of Amazon India’s Great Indian Festival sale and Flipkart’s The Big Billion Day sale show offers across categories including home and furniture, electronics, appliances, mobiles, television, groceries, fashion and more.

The GST cut in categories including footwear and apparels (up to Rs 2,500), handbags, chocolates, namkeens and appliances…
