Taiwanese contract manufacturing giant Foxconn issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying that it had not discussed making any fresh investments in Tamil Nadu with the state government. The clarification came in the wake of the government announcing that the company had committed to invest Rs 15,000 crore in the state.

Foxconn confirmed that the company’s newly appointed India Representative, Robert Wu, had held discussions with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and his team. But, it noted in the statement, “During the meeting, no new investments…
