PC hardware news moves quickly. Wasn’t it just yesterday that Intel’s widespread desktop crash bug fried a bunch of PC chips? Nope, it’s already been more than a year since the infamous “Raptor Lake” crashing issue peaked throughout the summer of 2024.

Unfortunately for me, the problem shocked my personal desktop PC for the first time…in 2025. Here’s how it went down, and how I got my rig out of the ditch.
