Apple was allegedly going to launch a data-analytics-id=”inline-link” href=”https://www.tomsguide.com/computing/macbooks/apple-may-introduce-a-19-inch-foldable-ipad-and-macbook-hybrid-and-im-all-for-it” data-before-rewrite-localise=”https://www.tomsguide.com/computing/macbooks/apple-may-introduce-a-19-inch-foldable-ipad-and-macbook-hybrid-and-im-all-for-it”>gigantic 18-inch folding iPad at some point in 2026, but according to a new report from data-analytics-id=”inline-link” href=”https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-21/apple-s-planned-foldable-ipad-with-18-inch-screen-hits-development-snags” target=”_blank” data-url=”https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-21/apple-s-planned-foldable-ipad-with-18-inch-screen-hits-development-snags” referrerpolicy=”no-referrer-when-downgrade” data-hl-processed=”none”>Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, that may no longer be true. We may have to wait until 2029 for that foldable to make its debut.
The delay supposedly stems from engineering issues related to weight, display technology and features for the tablet, Gurman reports.
