In a rare public response to growing competitive pressure from Google, Nvidia reaffirmed on Tuesday that its Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) were still ‘a generation ahead’ of its competitor’s AI processors.

The announcement came hours after it was revealed that Meta Platforms was in negotiations to purchase Google’s AI processors for its data centres for billions of dollars. The move may diminish its long-standing reliance on Nvidia technology.
