Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, one of the leading companies behind the artificial intelligence boom, acknowledged Wednesday that the industry was taking on considerable risk as it spends hundreds of billions of dollars on the data centres that power artificial intelligence.

“On the economic side, I have my concerns that even if the technology is really powerful and fulfils all its promises, I think that with some players in the ecosystem, if they get it off by a little bit, bad things could happen,” he said at the DealBook Summit.
