The Delhi High Court has issued an interim injunction directing social media giants Meta and X Corp, along with various e-commerce platforms, to remove content that misuses the name, image, and persona of cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, according to a report by Bar and Bench.

The order specifically targets social media posts attributing fabricated quotes to the former India captain and online listings selling unauthorised merchandise and “fake” autographed memorabilia.

Gavaskar, the first cricketer to seek such legal protection in India, filed the suit…
