Modi urges ethical, inclusive AI as India’s start-ups take centre stage ahead of global summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a roundtable with leading Indian artificial intelligence start-ups, underscoring the government’s ambition to position India as a global hub for ethical, inclusive and affordable AI.

The meeting, held at the prime minister’s residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, brought together representatives of 12 AI start-ups selected for the AI for ALL: Global Impact Challenge, part of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to be hosted in the country next month.
