Artificial intelligence (AI) brings huge opportunities to optimize energy systems and bring in energy efficiency leading to a reduction in waste, Roberto Bocca head of Centre for Energy and Materials at World Economic Forum told ET.

Artificial intelligence should not be perceived only as increasing the power demand but also as a tool to use fast data to optimize the electricity transmission and distribution system, he said.
