In January, Xiaomi launched the excellent Pad 7 with an interesting twist. A “Nano Texture” variant. When I first heard of this, my mind automatically went to the M4 iPad Pro, which was the first tablet in the world to feature an inbuilt, specially treated, anti-glare glass on its display.

In theory, both work the same way — in bright lighting conditions, they reduce glare without compromising on the quality or colour accuracy of the display. This is something third-party matte screen protectors fail to do — they are mass produced without taking…
