In another round of job cuts this year, Alphabet-owned Google has laid off hundreds of employees from its platforms and devices unit. This includes teams working on Android, Pixel devices and the Chrome browser, The Information reported on Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The layoffs follow voluntary buyout offers made to employees in the same unit earlier this year, the report added.
