A new report from Verizon Business shows that nearly all data breaches in the Asia-Pacific region in the past year stemmed from just three methods: system intrusions, social engineering, and basic web application attacks. The 2025 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) found that 97% of breaches were attributed to these tactics, with system intrusions alone accounting for 80%—more than double the previous year’s figure of 38%.
