Grocery delivery startup Kiranapro faced a severe cyberattack after which its servers were deleted, chief executive and cofounder Deepak Ravindran confirmed in a post on LinkedIn.

The company, which enables users to order groceries from nearby kirana stores, lost a huge amount of data after the incident, which it became aware of on May 26. Hackers gained root access to the startup’s accounts on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and GitHub.

The KiranaPro app remained online but was unable to process orders for hours after the attack.
