Amazon’s efforts to clamp down on counterfeit goods have resulted in more than $180 million in court-ordered penalties and the criminal prosecution of over 65 individuals globally, according to the company.

The update marks five years since it established its Counterfeit Crimes Unit (CCU) in 2020. The unit, composed of former prosecutors, investigators, and intelligence personnel, has worked with law enforcement agencies and brands in 12 countries, including India, China, the US, and the UK, to target the sale of fake goods.
