Apple is exploring contingency plans to deal with possible staff shortages at its factories in India after a group of Chinese workers employed by Foxconn returned to China, sources told CNBC-TV18.

While the recall of Chinese workers is not recent, sources said it has prompted Apple and its suppliers to evaluate alternative staffing models to maintain output at the Tamil Nadu facilities.
