YouTube is giving smaller creators in India a new way to break through the algorithm and find fresh audiences. The video platform on Tuesday announced the launch of Hype, a feature designed specifically to help creators with between 500 and 500,000 subscribers gain more visibility through fan engagement.

With Hype, viewers can do more than just like, share, or subscribe; they can actively “hype” a video within the first seven days of its release. Each hype earns points for the video, and the more points it collects, the higher it climbs on a dedicated…
