There is no credible news or official announcement about the ban on Instagram by the Indian government. The claim mentioned in the screenshot is not supported by any mainstream news sources.

Upon conducting a Google search using relevant keywords along with “1st India News,” startupnews.fyi came across a tweet from the official Twitter handle of First India News dated June 16, 2023. The tweet refuted the claim and clarified that the viral picture is morphed or manipulated.

Therefore, based on the findings of startupnews.fyi, it can be concluded that the claim of the Indian government banning Instagram is false and misleading. The government has not made any such announcement, and the screenshot circulating on social media is not reliable evidence.
