Govt to frame rules, set up authority under Online Gaming Act soon: Centre tells Delhi HC

The government on Tuesday informed the Delhi High Court that it will soon constitute a regulatory authority and frame rules and regulations under The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025.

Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta told a division bench comprising Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela that the government is promoting online gaming but online money games result in addictions and suicides, particularly of children.

“We are in the process of framing Rules and contemplating constituting the authority also….
