The International Education & Skills Summit (TIESS) hosted at Didac Skills 2025, witnessed a landmark partnership to reshape India’s educational landscape. With over 1.5 billion citizens, 65% under 35, India faces the challenge and opportunity of preparing its youth for the global workforce. Despite the Skill India Mission empowering 13 million young people, high-quality, future-ready trainers are still urgently needed. In response, WorldSkills UK (WSUK) and India Didactics Association (IDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at TIESS 2025 held at Didac Skills, launching an ambitious Master Trainer Programme to elevate the nation’s skilling ecosystem.

The IndiaSkills State Level Competitions, held during Didac Skills 2025, brought together the country’s most talented young competitors across diverse trades, demonstrating India’s determination to achieve world-class skill standards. The event, featuring participation from over 400 industry leaders and organizations, spotlighted the critical demand for robust capacity building among teachers and trainers to meet international benchmarks.
Aditya Gupta, CEO, India Didactics Association, highlighted, “WorldSkills UK is a globally recognised organisation with an outstanding track record in preparing students for international skills competitions. While India has made progress, there is a pressing need to do much more, especially given our population of 1.5 billion. One of the key challenges India faces is in the quantity and quality of trainers. Our agenda with WorldSkills UK focuses on capacity building, upskilling, and preparing trainers for the future. This partnership creates a proof of concept that our Indian educators are ready to embrace pedagogical experiences from around the world, which can cascade into broader training and the development of master trainers. Our ambition is to train and upskill several thousand educators over the next one to two years.”

The Master Trainer Programme will serve as a catalyst for enhancing the capacity and quality of trainers, ultimately equipping India’s youth with the skills needed to succeed in a globalised and dynamic workforce.
