Telecom regulators in India have data-i13n=”cpos:1;pos:1″ href=”https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/india-orders-mobile-phones-preloaded-with-government-app-ensure-cyber-safety-2025-12-01/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:reportedly;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas” class=”link “>reportedly asked smartphone manufacturers to preload a state-owned cybersecurity app that cannot be deleted onto all new devices, and push the app to existing devices via a software update. Reuters reports that, according to a non-public government order sent to manufacturers, Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and others were given 90 days to comply.
