Amid growing confusion over the Sanchar Saathi app, Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani emphasised its importance in preventing cyber fraud. In a conversation with news agency PTI on Tuesday, he said, “First of all, India today, if you take last year, 5 million people, that means 50 lakh people, have been impacted because of cyber fraud. Rs 23,000 crore has been lost.”
