Californians can now put a stop to their personal data being sold around on an online trading floor, thanks to a new free tool. On January 1, the state launched its Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, shortened to data-i13n=”elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1″ class=”link ” href=”https://consumer.drop.privacy.ca.gov/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:DROP;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas”>DROP, that allows residents to request to delete all of their personal information online that’s been harvested by data brokers.
