The character of modern warfare is being rewritten. Counting tanks, missiles and fighter jets is no longer enough; the new measure of power lies in algorithms, data and autonomous systems, according to a paper titled “India’s Approach to Military AI: Geopolitics and International Security Program—Strategy, Governance, and Challenges” by the Council for Strategic and Defence Research.
For India, the United States and China, artificial intelligence has shifted from a futuristic ambition to the core of national security planning, the paper said.
