SAP Labs India MD Sindhu Gangadharan Appointed as Nasscom Vice-Chairperson

India’s IT industry body, Nasscom, has appointed Sindhu Gangadharan, the Managing Director of SAP Labs India, as its Vice-Chairperson. Gangadharan also holds the position of Chairperson of the GCC Council at Nasscom, a role designated for the years 2023-25.

This appointment follows the recent elevation of Cognizant India MD Rajesh Nambiar, who was the Vice-Chair, to the position of Chairperson, taking over from Anant Maheshwari. Anant Maheshwari, former President of Microsoft India, was appointed Nasscom Chair in April 2023 for the term 2023-24 but relocated to Dubai for his new role as Honeywell’s High Growth Region President And CEO.

In a media statement, it was highlighted that Gangadharan will bring her extensive experience in technology and corporate leadership, garnered over decades in both India and Germany, to contribute to shaping India’s technology landscape, often referred to as the “Techade.”

Sindhu Gangadharan leads SAP’s largest Research and Development (R&D) center globally and is responsible for supervising product development and innovation across the company’s five centers in India. Additionally, she heads SAP User Enablement.

Expressing her thoughts on this role, Gangadharan stated, “Nasscom has played a pivotal role in helping accelerate India’s transition into the innovation hub for the world. I am honored to assume the office of the Vice Chairperson at Nasscom and shape the future of India’s Techade in collaboration with some of the finest minds in the industry. India, powered by its engineering R&D prowess, growing scientific capabilities, and large talent base, holds immense potential to drive large-scale digital transformation that is sustainable and accessible to all. I am excited to contribute to this journey.”
