The Centre has constituted a high-level inter-ministerial body, the AI Governance and Economic Group (AIGEG), to steer India’s national strategy on AI
The body will be chaired by union electronics and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, with minister of state Jitin Prasada as vice chairperson
The AIGEG will function as the apex institutional mechanism to coordinate AI policymaking across ministries, regulators and advisory bodies
