Consumer electronics company Boat has withdrawn its sponsorship of Punjabi singer Shubh’s upcoming tour to India due to controversial remarks he made earlier this year. Boat stated that as an Indian brand, they chose to withdraw sponsorship when they became aware of Shubh’s remarks. The singer is scheduled to perform at the Cruise Control 4.0 event in Mumbai and other cities. This announcement comes amidst tensions between Canada and India following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations of Indian government involvement in the killing of a Sikh separatist leader.
