Indian IT services company Wipro has announced that Aparna C Iyer will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), replacing Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal. In a regulatory filing, Wipro stated that Iyer will report to CEO and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte and will become a member of the Wipro executive board. Dalal is stepping down from the CFO position to explore other career opportunities.

The appointment of Aparna Iyer as CFO was approved by the company’s board of directors during a meeting and is effective as of September 22.

Aparna Iyer, a qualified chartered accountant and a gold medallist from the CA 2002 batch, has been with Wipro since April 2003. Over her two-decade tenure with the company, she has held various finance roles, including internal audit, business finance, finance planning and analysis, corporate treasury, and investor relations. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Wipro FullStride Cloud. Her expertise lies in financial risk management, capital allocation, fundraising, business strategy, and growth.

“Aparna is an accomplished and results-driven leader… she has been a dynamic, forward-thinking strategic partner to our business leaders,” said Delaporte, adding that her “commitment to creating lasting value, expertise across the full spectrum of finance operations, and her experience in working with a range of stakeholders will be instrumental in achieving our financial objectives”.

“As we continue our transformation journey, I look forward to working with Thierry, our finance team, and the entire organization to build on our successes, drive sustainable growth, and create value for our stakeholders,” Iyer said in a statement.

Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal, who has been with Wipro since 2002 and served in various finance roles, including CFO of Wipro’s Global IT Business, became the President and CFO in 2015.

Wipro’s stock closed 0.28% lower at ₹428.60 per share on the BSE on Thursday.
