Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the seventh edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC), a three-day event held at the Bharat Mandapam convention center in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, the same venue that hosted the G20 Summit in September. During the opening, he also unveiled 100 5G labs, spanning prominent engineering colleges nationwide.
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the accelerated pace of technological progress, stating that the future is no longer distant, but here and now.
He stated, “ The future is no longer a decade or a century away, but due to advances in technology, the future is here and now.”
He also added that “in nine years of his government, India’s startup ecosystem has become one of the largest in the world, and is in the top 3. India now boasts over 100,000 startups.”

PM Modi also highlighted the rapid deployment of 5G technology in the country. Having launched it on October 1 the previous year, he mentioned the remarkable progress, with approximately 500,000 5G base stations now operational across the nation. This reflects the nation’s significant strides in embracing cutting-edge technology.
