Mika Yamamoto Named Chief Customer and Marketing Officer at Freshworks

Freshworks has announced the appointment of Mika Yamamoto as its Chief Customer and Marketing Officer (CCMO), where she will oversee the global marketing and customer experience teams. Yamamoto brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Customer Engagement Officer at F5, where she played a crucial role in driving data, marketing, digital transformation, and customer experience initiatives across products and regions.

Dennis Woodside, President at Freshworks, emphasized the unique perspective Yamamoto brings, having combined roles as CMO and CXO. He expressed confidence in her ability to lead innovative and measurable changes for employees, customers, and prospects, making her a valuable addition to the Freshworks leadership team.

Expressing her enthusiasm for joining Freshworks, Yamamoto highlighted her excitement to be part of the company’s journey toward becoming a multi-billion dollar software entity. With a passion for serving specific segments of companies and people, she aims to contribute to Freshworks’ growth and success.

Before her tenure at F5, Yamamoto served as the Global President of Marketo and later became SVP and General Manager of Marketo at Adobe following its acquisition. Her extensive background also includes roles as Chief Digital Marketing Officer and CMO of SMB for SAP. Additionally, Yamamoto held senior leadership positions at Amazon Books, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Stores, Gartner, and Accenture. She holds a BA in Commerce with a focus on economics and marketing from Queen’s University in Canada and serves on the boards of BlackLine, Rainier Valley Food Bank, and United Way of King County.

Yamamoto officially joined the executive team of Freshworks on November 20 and reports to Freshworks’ CEO and founder, Girish Mathrubootham, as well as President Woodside. Freshworks, headquartered in San Mateo, California, specializes in AI-boosted business software designed for IT, customer support, and sales and marketing teams. With a global presence, the company serves over 66,000 customers, including notable names such as American Express, Blue Nile, Bridgestone, Databricks, Fila, Klarna, and OfficeMax.
