The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), utilising its authority under the Information Technology Act, 2000, has executed the blocking of these websites following the NCTAU’s findings. The illicit activities involved task-based part-time job frauds and organized illegal investments, with the perpetrators exploiting digital advertising, chat messengers, and utilizing mule and rented accounts.
