Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity company, has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), a prestigious engineering education and research institution.

The partnership is aimed at bolstering cybersecurity research and education. This partnership aims to strengthen India’s cybersecurity workforce and enhance the nation’s computing security.

What is the aim of the partnership?

The MoU outlines a collaborative framework between Kaspersky and IIT Delhi. It focuses on exchanging knowledge, developing educational materials, and organizing events to raise cybersecurity awareness.

Additionally, it includes sponsoring academic awards to motivate IIT Delhi students towards careers in ICT and Cybersecurity. This initiative is expected to increase the employability of IIT Delhi graduates by equipping them with in-demand competencies.

Industry and Academic Synergy

“The demand for cybersecurity professionals is expected to grow exponentially as India cements its position as the world’s technology and innovation hub. Our collaboration with IIT Delhi proves our enduring commitment to the country to help further develop its programs to create more skilled and expert local cybersecurity professionals. We must collaborate to develop the expertise and skills required to protect against cyber threats, which are increasing in both volume and sophistication,” said Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky.

“As cyber threats continue to surge in complexity alongside technological advancements and automation, it is of paramount importance to equip our youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to defend against these challenges,” said Professor Panda.

Kaspersky’s educational initiatives

Kaspersky recently launched the Academy Alliance program last September, aiming to enhance academic outcomes by incorporating its technologies and knowledge into education. IIT Delhi is the first institution in the region to participate in this educational partnership.

This collaboration is part of Kaspersky’s worldwide effort to develop cybersecurity capabilities. The company has established similar agreements with various universities and academic institutions globally. This initiative underscores Kaspersky’s dedication to creating a safer digital world through education and skill development.
