Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address workshops with the vice-chancellors of over 700 universities at Raj Bhawans nationwide on Monday, seeking the insights of the young populace.

A vision document is currently in the works, aiming to position India as a developed economy with an estimated value of about USD 30 trillion by 2047. The document is slated for release by the Prime Minister at the end of January next year.

Speaking at a press conference, Subrahmanyam highlighted the pivotal juncture in India’s history, declaring the 21st century as India’s era of ascendance. He attributed this transformative trajectory to significant advancements in education, health, rural economy, infrastructure, and digital public infrastructure.

The Niti Aayog CEO underscored the necessity for innovative ideas, asserting that a conventional, business-as-usual approach will fall short. He emphasized the importance of channeling the inventive ideas of the youth towards nation-building, inviting them to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047.

To facilitate public participation, Subrahmanyam disclosed the launch of a dedicated webpage, accessible for a month, where youth and the general public can share their perspectives on various aspects. The questions posed include envisioning a developed India in 2047, outlining the necessary steps to achieve this goal, and identifying individual contributions to realizing Viksit Bharat@2047.

In 2023, Niti Aayog assumed the responsibility of consolidating 10 sectoral thematic visions into a unified vision for Viksit Bharat @2047. This ambitious initiative encompasses diverse facets of development, spanning economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, among other key areas. Viksit Bharat@2047 is envisioned as a comprehensive roadmap for India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by its 100th year of independence in 2047.
