EaseMyTrip acquires a 13% stake in Eco Hotels and Resorts

EaseMyTrip.com has acquired around 13% stake in BSE-listed Eco Hotels and Resorts Ltd. The investment, disclosed in a stock exchange filing, aims to secure a minority interest and promote eco-friendly practices in hospitality. 

EaseMyTrip co-founder and CEO Nishant Pitti stated, “Our choice to invest in stakes aligns with our vision to contribute positively to the growth of eco-friendly and green hotels.” He sees the investment as a milestone in diversifying their portfolio and enhancing travel experiences.

According to V K Tripathi, Executive Chairman of Eco Hotels and Resorts Ltd., the strategic association with EaseMyTrip.com could be a game changer in the hospitality sector. Tripathi expressed, “Such a synergy is hardly seen in the hospitality sector.”

The market response was evident as Easy Trip Planners’ stock saw a 0.13% increase on the NSE, trading at ₹38.30 as of 2:30 pm on Friday. Simultaneously, Eco Hotels and Resorts’ stock on the BSE surged by 4.97%, reaching ₹17.32.
