Adani Group-owned Adani Total Gas today said it has partnered with Flipkart to support them in reducing carbon footprint across various stages of its supply chain, including sourcing, warehousing, and delivery to customers.
Providing decarbonizing solutions
Adani Total Gas will be providing Flipkart with decarbonizing solutions to aid in their transition to cleaner fuel options. This includes the use of natural gas and the introduction of electric vehicles (EVs) in their logistics.
Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a part of ATGL, will set up EV charging infrastructure across Flipkart’s supply chain network in India.
Impact on ecommerce logistics
The partnership is expected to significantly impact the e-commerce logistics sector in India, which currently sees over 8 million shipments daily. With the economy growing, the volume of shipments is anticipated to increase, necessitating sustainable solutions to curb carbon emissions.
The company said the partnership aligns with India’s climate action goals set at COP 26, including reducing carbon intensity and achieving net-zero targets.
Supporting efforts to achieve net-zero goals
Suresh P Manglani, Executive Director & CEO of Adani Total Gas Ltd, said, “We are fully committed to providing clean energy solutions to our customers and to help them achieve their decarbonization goals, thus actively contributing towards India’s climate action goals.”
