Being an Elite Partner to NVIDIA, we Have Access to High End GPUs

It’s well known that NVIDIA’s GPUs have been the driving force behind the generative AI boom. However, acquiring these sought-after pieces of hardware has become increasingly difficult.

Yotta, backed by the Hiranandani Group, announced last year its plan to acquire approximately 32,000 highly sought-after GPUs over the next two years. To date, the company has successfully secured around 16,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs.

While speaking at Cypher 2024– India’s biggest AI conference– hosted by AIM Media House– Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, Managing Director & CEO at Yotta, said they are an elite NVIDIA partner.

“Being an elite NVIDIA partner, we will gain access to the latest NVIDIA GPUs in the near future. This means we can cater to a wide range of use cases in India, whether they involve developing large-scale models or smaller ones. We are equipped to meet all these needs right here in India,” he said.

Gupta also said that when NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visited India last year, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed a clear commitment to supporting India’s AI ambitions.

“So that commitment from NVIDIA to India turned out to be a commitment to Yotta. We took the initiative to place our first order with NVIDIA, which is committed to bringing these GPUs to India. We are excited to announce that these technologies are now live and available in India. Over the past couple of months, we have successfully deployed a cluster of 16,384 GPUs, along with thousands of L40 GPUs,” Gupta said.

“We no longer need to wait to build large models; it’s time to move beyond simply creating applications on pre-trained models. India has unique advantages and an abundance of use cases that far exceed those found elsewhere in the world. Our vast datasets can be leveraged to develop models tailored to our specific needs,” he added.

Recently, Yotta announced a partnership with the Government of Telangana to establish a cutting-edge, high-performance GPU-based AI Supercomputer within a purpose-built high-density liquid-cooled Data Centre campus in Hyderabad’s AI City.

The first phase of the Supercomputer, consisting of 4,000 high-performance GPUs and the first Data Centre within the campus, Yotta H1, will be operational within the next 24 months. Once fully built, the AI Supercomputer will be powered by 25,000 GPUs.

The AI infrastructure company also launched Shambho, an accelerator program designed to nurture and accelerate the growth of Indian startups in the Cloud and AI sectors. Partnering with Nasscom and the Telangana AI Mission, Shambho aims to provide startups with world class infrastructure, mentorship and technical support.
