All that you need to know about Bit N Build International Hackathon
Bit N Build is an international Hackathon conducted by Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Mumbai in collaboration with 25 national and international colleges. It promotes exposure and collaboration opportunities for students across various universities worldwide. It is an event that has gained immense popularity and success in its foremost edition. Last year, this was the best hackathon conducted by Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Bandra, Mumbai, and it had 900+ Participants and 200+ teams.
This year, Bit N Build is set to make waves internationally, showcasing its innovation on the global stage, while also solidifying its influence at the national level. In the first phase of the hackathon, participating colleges will host the hackathon in their respective states. The hackathon’s final round will feature the top teams from this phase, earning them an invitation to compete in Mumbai at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering.
Rules and Guidelines
Preliminary Round:
- There will be Round 1 of Bit N Build open to all colleges across India.
- Winners of Round 1 will qualify to compete in the final round of Bit N Build.
Eligibility:
- The hackathon is open to all students pursuing bachelor's degrees.
- The participants must participate for the preliminary round in their respective states only.
Registration Fees:
- A registration fee of Rs. 400 will be applicable per team.
Team Formation:
- Individual participation is not allowed.
- Teams can consist of 2 to 4 members.
- Participants can form their own teams.
- The team can have people from different colleges, but everyone must be from the same state.
Duration:
- The hackathon will run for a span of 24 hours for the final round which will be held at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering
Code of Conduct:
- All participants must maintain a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Any form of discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
Original Work:
- All projects must be original and developed during the 24-hour hackathon.
- The use of pre-existing projects or substantial pre-written code is not allowed, if found it may lead to immediate disqualification from the hackathon.
Submission Requirements:
- Projects must be submitted before the specified 24-hour deadline.
- Submissions should include a clear project description, demo, and any necessary documentation.
- Participants are required to update their GitHub repositories and push code at least once every 3 hours during the hackathon.
Technology Stack:
- Participants are free to use any programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- It is recommended to disclose the technology stack used in the project.
Judging Criteria:
- Projects will be judged based on creativity, technical complexity, practicality, and overall presentation.
- Judges' decisions are final.
General Instructions:
- Shortlisted teams traveling for the grand finale will be eligible to receive reimbursement for to & from journey via 2nd class sleeper railway fare.
- Meals will be provided to all the participants throughout the duration of the hackathon.
BitNBuild's initial round spans across multiple states and countries, challenging bright minds to innovate. The victorious contenders will converge in Mumbai, where the stage is set for the ultimate showdown and a chance to be crowned the hackathon champion!
