The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – K.K. Birla Goa Campus has long been recognised as one of India’s premier educational institutions, nurturing generations of students who have gone on to make significant contributions across industries. Among the campus’ flagship initiatives is Spree, its annual inter-collegiate sports festival, which has steadily grown into one of the largest collegiate sporting events in the country.
A key highlight of the festival each year is the Spree Marathon, one of Goa’s largest community runs that brings together students, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and members of the local community in a celebration of endurance, fitness, and collective participation.
The Spree ’26 Marathon will take place on March 22, 2026, starting at 6:00 AM from Miramar, Panjim, offering participants the opportunity to run through scenic coastal routes while being part of an energetic race-day atmosphere. Designed to welcome runners of all experience levels, the marathon features three race categories — 3K, 5K, and 10K, allowing everyone from casual runners to competitive athletes to take part.
Beyond the race itself, the marathon promises a complete experience for participants. Registered runners will receive exclusive Spree Marathon merchandise, Lakmé Sunexpert sunscreen, Avvatar protein bars, finisher medals, participation certificates, and access to energy drinks, snacks, and race-day refreshments. Participants will also receive The Hosteller coupons, with travel arrangements provided for BITS students.
With a total prize pool of ₹1,00,000, the event aims to encourage competitive spirit while maintaining the inclusive ethos that defines the marathon. While Spree as a whole is known for its large-scale inter-collegiate sporting competitions, sports celebrity interactions, and vibrant concert nights featuring artists such as Ankit Tiwari, Mithoon, Seedhe Maut, Kr$na, Mohammad Irfan, DJ Nucleya, and international EDM act DJ Marnik, the marathon continues to stand out as one of its most community driven initiatives.
