The Indian government intends to launch an electric vehicle (EV) super app, a one-stop platform for EV users that will provide detailed information about public charging stations and allow reservations at the stations.
The government intends to include critical information about charging stations on the app, such as their availability, charger types, and tariffs, in order to improve the overall EV usage experience, address range anxiety, and thus encourage EV adoption. According to the Economic Times, the app could go live within the next four to six weeks. There have previously been reports of work on such an upcoming platform, with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) tasked with a portion of the work.
