Snapchat launched its paid membership service, Snapchat+, in India

Social media network Snapchat launched its paid membership service, Snapchat+, in India for INR 49 per month.

With more than 100 million users nationwide, Snapchat has a sizable market that the service hopes to capitalise on. Additionally, it coincides with Snap Inc.’s efforts to diversify its revenue sources and increase the number of paying users among its 332 Mn global users. The paid service asserts to provide numerous exclusive services, such as the ability to customise the app icon, add a rewatch indicator, and mark someone as best friend on the profile. The subscription service will also incorporate the recently released Snapchat for Web, which enables users to video call other users while chatting.
