Dubai’s RTA upgraded its ‘back to school’ fleet’s GPS tracking and emergency measures

Share via:

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai is preparing to transport over 24000 students in the emirates’ 440-strong school bus fleet for the start of the new school term, which will be equipped with enhanced security and emergency guidelines.

There are enhanced security measures in place for emergency situations, such as GPS systems for bus tracking and boarding. The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) and the emirates’ RTA stated that they hope the safety measures will encourage more students to take the bus in the context of reducing traffic during rush hours, as it aligns with their strategic objectives of having a positive impact on the community and increasing Dubai’s “happiness score.” Schools across the country will reopen on August 29.
