Foodtech giant Zomato halted new signups and subscription renewals for its loyalty programme Zomato Pro. The move comes after Zomato made several changes to its business model in order to scale and become profitable.
After shuttering Zomato Pro’s premium iteration, Zomato Pro Plus, in May of this year, the startup is now shuttering Zomato Pro after two years of operation. Zomato Gold, which was rebranded as Zomato Pro in 2020, was the company’s first customer loyalty programme. Zomato stated in a message to existing Pro users and those attempting to sign up that the services are unavailable for renewal “while we work on a new better experience for you.”
