ONDC, the government’s open ecommerce ambition, is expected to exit the pilot phase and become available to the public by the end of August or early September.

According to an interview with Shireesh Joshi, CBO, ONDC, the network is just days away from going live. “We expect to go public by the end of August or early September.” All of the other organisations that support ONDC are also supporting us in this endeavour. It will be done city by city. It might not even be a city.” Currently, ONDC officials are focusing on improving customer experience, developing ONDC-compatible tools for small sellers, and eliminating network challenges. According to the report, the network is testing multiple cart use cases to ensure that the experience is satisfactory.
