Form an Inter-Ministerial Committee to address Drone Sector Issues: FICCI to Govt

Share via:

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has urged the government to form an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on drones and counter-drones, with representation from all relevant ministries and departments.

FICCI made recommendations to the Indian government in a report prepared in collaboration with EY to address existing bottlenecks in drone manufacturing, which can help India emerge as a drone hub. “The IMC should investigate all issues, including innovation, technology development, regulations, mother technology development, global value chains, testing, skill development, training, global standards, reciprocity issues, and custom duties, in order to make this sector globally competitive and to become the world’s manufacturing hub,” according to the report.
