Twitter is updating the user interface for DMs on Android

Share via:

Twitter announced on Friday the launch of a redesigned user interface for DMs on Android. Starting today, Twitter users on Android will see a more modern interface for direct messages that is consistent with the rest of the app. Twitter is bringing the Android experience up to par with the iOS interface with this update.

The update also includes a better composer, better tweet forwarding, context for message requests, and clearer read receipts. The social network is also improving the scrolling performance and responsiveness of its interface. When Android users open their DMs, the boxy design they’re used to will no longer appear. They can now see if they’ve received message requests from people they know. The three-dot menu in the top right corner of the UI has been replaced with a Settings symbol as well.
