Vernacular government test prep platform Adda247 raised $35 million funds led by WestBridge Capital where Google joined as a new investor and existing investors Info Edge and Asha Impact also participated.
The edtech platform intends to use the new funds to boost its tech and product profiles, expand its student counselling team, and hire for key leadership positions. The startup stated in a statement that the goal is to go deeper into the vernacular test preparation category. Adda247 offers online coaching for government job entrance exams and serves the learning needs of millions of students in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. For more than 500 government exams, the edtech platform provides content in over 12 vernacular languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Malayalam, and Bhojpuri.
